We try to keep the rules to a minimum, but we do ask...
Entrants live in the UK and are able to travel to the central London awards ceremony if invited, on the evening of 19th September, 2008. The website or blog needs to be relevant to the Christian world or attract a Christian audience. The creators of the site do not need to be Christian themselves.
Whether nominating themselves or others, the original creators of a site must give express permission for their site to be entered into the awards. Contact details for creators must be included when nominating any site as they will be the ones to be considered for receiving awards and prizes.
FAQ: Entering the Christian Web and Blog Awards 2008
Q: Can I enter my site into multiple categories?
A: You can, but we ask you to limit it to two categories per site. If you're in need of a bit more guidance you can always check out our categories page that covers each award in more detail.
Q: I live outside of the UK, can I enter my site into the awards?
A: Sorry, currently we only accept entries from those living in the UK. This may change as the awards grow in the future.
Q: I live in the UK but am not a UK citizen, can I enter my site into the awards?
A: Yes, as long as you're a permanent resident of the UK, you are welcome to enter the awards.
Q: Can I nominate myself or someone else?
A: There was much discussion on this issue last year. 2008 Awards rules will remain as 2007 Award rules did - you are welcome to nominate yourself or someone else. Please remember that if you wish to nominate someone else's site, make sure you have checked they meet the guidelines to enter above and that you ask their permission to enter. Don't be shy in nominating yourself either, this event isn't about self promotion, it's about upholding and promoting Christianity.
Q: More than one person created our site, how do we enter?
A: Just include your contact details and names on the entry form and we'll be sure to acknowledge all creative parties.
Q: What if my site doesn't fit into any of your categories?
A: Have a look our categories page where each award is explained in detail. If you're still stuck, email christianblogawards@premier.org.uk for a bit of advice.
Q: How do I vote for the People's Choice Award 2008?
A: Simply head to the submissions form on this site, fill in the details of your chosen website and hit enter!
FAQ: Making of the Christian Web and Blog Awards 2008
Q: Who created the awards?
A: The Christian Web and Blog Awards were established in 2007 by Premier Christian Media. The awards were originally the brainchild of Premier presenter and awards host, Maria Toth.
Q: What are the purposes of the awards?
A: The purposes of the awards are to engage the Church in the use of new media technology, recognise outstanding achievement in Christian new media and encourage and acknowledge Church and Christian innovation.
Q: Who created this website?
A: This website has been put together by Roald Sinissaar, one of Premier's core programming team. You can find out more about Roald and his work by checking out roald.elevantstudios.com.
Q: What happened to your old website?
A: Last year we started with a wordpress site, blogging the ups and downs of the first year's awards. This year we wanted to create a website as a means of resource and continue blogging about the event using wordpress. Let us know what you think by emailing christianblogawards@premier.org.uk
Q: Who are the judges?
A: You can find out about this year's panel on the judges page of this site.
Q: What is the judging process?
A: The judges follow strict guidelines, allowing them to rate entries in each category according to specific, predetermined merits decided by a host of specialists. A wide range of elements are considered and rated including content, design, accessibility alongside criteria specific to each category. It's a lot of hard work and a long process but we really believe in it.
Q: How do you decide the categories?
A: A team of staff get together and research what sites are out there, what is important to the Church and Christians and then do their best to come up with a concise and open list of categories. In our first year we decided to add two categories after opening nominations thanks to suggestions from entrants. Feel free to email us with your comments about the categories at christianblogawards@premier.org.uk
